Photo Session Flow

July 23, 2015

When receiving an inquire from a client about a photo session, It usually looks something like this:

Hello,
I am looking to get family/senior portraits done.
How much does it cost and what does it look like.
Thanks so much.
Curious Potential client.

Whether you are new to getting your portraits done or you are just used to going to a traditional studio, Today, I am going to walk you thru my  session process and answer all the questions people usually ask.

Pre-Consultation (The “get to know you” time):

To start, I want you to know that above all, These photographs are about you. You, your family, and your home.  That means they should convey your personality and preferences. They should be something you take joy in showing off to your friends.

I strongly believe that it is important to make you comfortable and get to know your style and personality before a session.

Because of that, We like to set up a pre-consultation meeting to discuss the following:

  • Your style
  • Your passions and Loves
  • What you dream of doing with the images
  • Outfits and Locations
  • Contract and Questions

We simply get together and plan the session together, from start to finish, We want to get the most out of our time together.

The Session:

After we have met, planned our session, and picked a date and time for your shoot, We wait for that date to arrive to Photograph the Magic!

For your session, we will USUALLY shoot about two hours before sunset, when the light is the best! Most of the time we meet on locations and sometimes we’ll stay there and sometimes we’ll move to other locations.

Something, that makes me different from a traditional photographer is that I am a completely ‘on location’ photographer. I am constantly seeking out earthy backgrounds, urban settings and everything in between for future photo shoots. I love to venture out into the woods, take your family to a creek, Haul a couch into a field….You name it, we can do it.

I take Pride in the images that we capture when we allow a little imagination and adventure to be apart of our session together.

Depending on the session booked, you’ll have two to three outfit changes and I’ll work with you very closely to pose you so that you look your best. Don’t worry if you have no ‘modeling’ experience! I know how to pose you in fashionable, flattering poses. And besides, half of our shooting style is capturing the RAW with those candid. Well take a lot of photographs over the course of that time, some which will become forever favorites proudly displayed in your home.

Viewing & Ordering Appointment:

Between 2 to 3 weeks after your session, we will book a viewing and ordering appointment. This is a time where I will come to your home or meet at a local café and you will view your images for the first time. This appointment is the assigned ordering time for your Products. We have a wide variety of heirloom quality prints, wall art, and albums to preserve the most cherished moments in your life.

This is our favorite “meeting” we have with you as we get to just drool over your beautiful images together.
